Cindy Hamilton

Vice President

Cindy Hamilton heads Heritage Consulting Group's Philadelphia office. She joined Heritage in 2004, bringing a combined expertise in historic preservation consultation and architectural conservation. Before joining Heritage, Cindy spent 15 years as a preservation consultant in the Philadelphia area. She was involved in the restoration and rehabilitation of hundreds of significant buildings on the east coast.

Cindy has developed specific expertise in the Federal Historic Preservation Tax Incentive Program and the National Register of Historic Places program. She has overseen successful approvals of Tax Credit projects resulting in the rehabilitation of schools, banks, warehouses, factories, office buildings, hotels and railroad stations. She has been involved in the creation of numerous historic districts and has nominated dozens of individual buildings to the National Register. Those nominations have encompassed a wide array of historic building types such as a World War II era shipyard, a Marine Corps Depot of Supplies, an early 20th century brewery, a southern cotton mill, buildings associated with the Pennsylvania Railroad and a host of textile-related factories in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Proficient in architectural conservation, Cindy has carried out building investigations, developed comprehensive conditions assessments and prepared conservation recommendations to guide restorations. She has particular expertise in the microscopic analysis of painted architectural finishes and has directed the conservation and re-creation of historic paint schemes for churches, theaters, and city, state and federal government buildings.

Cindy holds a Master of Science in Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania and has completed advanced coursework in architectural conservation at the Smithsonian Center for Materials Research and Education.
