National Register Nominations
Listing on
the National Register of Historic Places is a requirement for a property or
district to be certified historic, as well as to qualify for other incentives offered by state and federal
governments.
In its
twenty plus years, Heritage has completed over 200 National Register nominations
throughout the country. In the course of these, the firm has
identified, researched, and evaluated over 1,000 buildings. The nominations
have included individual properties, multiple property submissions and historic
districts.
Section
106/Regulatory Reviews
Federal review
process designed to ensure that historic properties are considered during
federal project planning and execution. The review process is administered by
the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, an independent federal agency,
with assistance from the State Historic Preservation Office.
With staff expertise in history, architectural history, and historic
preservation, Heritage is frequently called on to work on behalf of private
property owners, local, state and federal agencies to navigate Section 106 and
similar reviews in Portland, Oregon and around the country. This work involves
owner representation, negotiation and documentation. Heritage is respected
for its knowledgeable advocacy.

its history, Heritage has served as an advisor to the owners of historic
properties in the proper preservation, maintenance and rehabilitation of their
buildings.
