Project Details

The Hanan & Son Shoe company built this brick and heavy timber factory building in 1893 and expanded the building in 1905 with a large reinforced concrete addition.  Located in the DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) historic district, which is significant for its association with the rise of Brooklyn as a major American industrial center, the building was rehabilitated to create 134 loft style apartments.
